Who is Behind This
It Takes a Village
Mortgage Barcamp wouldn't be possible without the broader mortgage community. As always, it takes a village.
This event is made possible by:
- The mortgage professionals who share their knowledge and experiences
- The community members who help spread the word
- The participants who bring their questions and insights
- The industry leaders who support collaborative learning
- The technology providers who enable better communication
The Spark That Started It
"We need a mortgage conference for doers, built by the people who actually build. And it shouldn't cost an arm-and-leg to attend."
Mortgage Barcamp was born from a simple LinkedIn post. It talked about making an open, attendee-led conference where originators, tech founders, marketing experts, product specialists, and engineers can come as you are to share real, everyday tactics and have productive group discussions.
The replies made it clear: there is street-level demand for a mortgage "unconference." So let's do it.
The An Organizer
Mortgage Barcamp is organized and emceed by Dan Green.
Hi, everyone. It's Dan. I'm just here to set the guardrails. It's all of you who make Mortgage Barcamp possible.
But just in case, here are my bona fides: I've been an active participant in at least a dozen industry Barcamps and unconference formats, and am experienced in organizing collaborative, community-driven events. I've hosted and emceed industry events for groups as large as 750 people
Mortgage Barcamp will bring all of us into one space to learn from each other without the barriers of traditional conference structures.
Enough about me.
The Mortgage Barcamp Mission
Mortgage Barcamp exists to create a space where mortgage professionals can:
- Learn from each other's experiences
- Share knowledge and best practices
- Build meaningful professional relationships
- Collaborate on industry challenges
- Grow their understanding of the mortgage landscape
The best learning happens through conversation, not lectures. That's why we're using the Barcamp format - it puts participants in control of their learning experience.
Independence and Neutrality
Mortgage Barcamp is an independent event. We are not affiliated with any:
- Specific mortgage company or lender
- Industry association or trade group
- Technology vendor or service provider
- Government agency or regulatory body
Having independence lets us create a neutral space where all perspectives are welcome and all participants can speak freely about their experiences and challenges.
Community Values
We are committed to fostering a community that values:
- Respect: Treating all participants with dignity and consideration
- Inclusion: Welcoming professionals from all backgrounds and experience levels
- Collaboration: Working together to solve problems and share knowledge
- Transparency: Being open and honest in our communications
- Learning: Embracing curiosity and continuous improvement
